Q. From where did the idea or name "Sugarbears" originate for our swim team?
A. From the 1965 Post Cereal's Sugar Bear character for Sugar Crisps.
The team's early Head Coach, Bob Jellison, apparently resembled the Sugar Bear character and gained the nickname shortly after joining Roseville High School as a Coach.

A. Coach MaryTess and Allie Salatti have been Sugarbears since 6&Unders.

A. Mike Barsotti, who later became a Sugarbear coach. Mike's sister, Kathy Barsotti, is a previous league rep and still works for the City of Roseville. Collette Thompson received the award from Oakmont in 1976 and Cheryl Ferguson in 1977

Q. Who was the very first recepient of the Paul Clotfelter Memorial Award as awarded by the Sugarbears in 1975?
A. No one yet has been able to recall. Oakmont and Sugarbears both gave out the award in 1975, but the first recepient as awarded by the Sugarbears is not known.

Q. Which Sugarbear and Paul Clotfelter recepient later became an Aunt to Megan Henry?
A. Cheryl Ferguson. Cheryl was Jennifer Matheny's best friend in High School.
Cheryl's older brother drove her friends around before they all had their driver's license and asked Jennifer to his Junior Prom. The rest they say is history.
